Boys Youth Weather Alert:
Tuesday March 20th -- Due to standing water on the fields Tuesday practices at West Ridge will be rescheduled to later in the week.  Please contact your coach for your field assignment.

Boys Youth Grades 1-8 Program Summary

Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse provides opportunities for learning and playing lacrosse for boys in grades 1-8.  The grade levels for teams are 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th.  All teams play in the Central Texas Youth Lacrosse Association.  The Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse Association works closely with the Westlake High School Boys Lacrosse program to provide an integrated feeder program for the high school varsity and junior varsity teams.

Notice For Non-Eanes ISD Taxpayer / Non-Eanes ISD Students

The field usage contract with Eanes ISD limits the number of players that participate with Westlake Youth Lacrosse that are either non-Eanes ISD taxpayer families or non-Eanes ISD students.  Because of our current enrollment numbers, we must therefore place all players on our waitlist that are not one of either an Eanes ISD taxpayer family or an Eanes ISD student.  In addition, because most grade levels in Westlake Youth Lacrosse result in at least some players not being placed on a team, we request that those players which have a non-EISD school team option available play on their corresponding school team so that positions may be freed up for boys which do not have such options.  We should know our final status by December 15th, well before enrollment deadlines in the other lacrosse associations in the Austin area.  Full refunds will be provided to any player that does not get placed on a Westlake team.

2011 Fall Clinic Registration Closed
Westlake Youth Lacrosse is sponsoring a three day lacrosse clinic  for grades 1-6 on

Saturday Oct. 22

Sunday  Oct. 30

Saturday Nov. 5

3:00-5:30PM at West Ridge Middle School.

The clinic provides an opportunity for new youth players to try out lacrosse, the fastest growing sport in America.  Experienced players can use the clinic to tune-up their skills for the 2012 Spring season. This Spring Westlake will field youth teams in the 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade divisions.

Westlake Select team coaches and Youth Spring League coaches will be leading the clinic.

2011-12 Program Summary

Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse (WBYL) operates Wall Ball in the Summer and Fall.  In the Fall WBYL will also have travel tournament teams at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels.  The WBYL Fall Clinic will occur in the October - November time frame on three consecutive Sundays for 1st-6th graders.  The Fall Clinic is a great for both new and experienced players.

Registration will open in November for Spring 2012 league play for boys grades 1-8.  Practice will start for 7th/8th graders in late January.  Practice for all other teams will start in eary February.  The season will consist of 8 games played primarily on Sunday afternoons starting the end of February.  The season will conclude in early May.

Last year all grades levels went to a waitlist for Spring league play and due to the number of teams we had to ultimately reject players at multiple grade levels.  We anticipate record enrollment again as lacrosse continues to experience trmendous growth (Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse had a 33% registration increase last year).  TEAMS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME BASIS.

A "tune-up" clinic will is typically sponsored by the Westlake Varsity team at Westlake High School in January.  More information will be provided on a later date regarding enrollment for this clinic.  Equipment necessary for play includes: helmet, mouthpiece, stick, gloves, shoulder pads, and elbow pads.  Equipment may be purchased or rented from South Swell Sports 6203 N. Capital of Texas Hwy, 732-0002.  Alternatively, we highly recommend new players borrow equipment from a friend.

2012 Spring League Play Registration Closed

Registration is closed for the 2012 Spring League teams.  Teams will be formed at the following levels: 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade. All teams play in the Central Texas Youth Lacrosse Association.   7th/8th grade teams will start practice in the end of January and all other grade levels will start in February.  Games will commence on approximately February 27th.

Last year all grade levels entered a waitlist mode and at almost all grade levels some players were not accomodated.  Therefore earlier registration is suggested.

Westlake Boys Youth Lacrosse accomodates all boys who live in the Eanes ISD attendance zone or attend an Eanes ISD school.  Players who do not fall in these categories are highly encouraged to play in the youth association corresponding to their residence.
